Leave a Nest Research Grant: Shiodamari Foundation Award

Overview

In partnership with the Shiodamari Foundation, Leave a Nest provided research grants for young researchers working on any topic that can contribute to the recovery of coastal marine biological resources. Twenty young researchers were selected from studies on seaweed ecology, monitoring and recovery of marine resources, coastal structures, tourism, and regional revitalization.

Technology strengths

The Leave a Nest Research Grant has operated as an open-call research funding program across Japan and six Southeast Asian countries since 2009. Its outreach and application process has attracted many approaches to marine ecosystem research, environmental assessment, and restoration.
